Seeing a modern manufacturing and engineering site in operation

What a fantastic morning we have had and we wanted to share it with you.

There were 12 individuals from the Nottingham DWP Employability Programme (which is delivered by Optima UK) given the exclusive opportunity to see a modern manufacturing and engineering site in operation.

Alpine Metal Tech is a world leader in the steel, rail, automotive, and aerospace industries and operates from a number of sites across the globe.

This morning, we were given a tour of its amazing Burton-On-Trent site, with participants able to see for themselves the teamwork that is needed in order for the site to deliver for its customers.

We were kindly led round by Jim Dimech, Production Manager at Alpine Metal Tech, and he enlightened the individuals with his knowledge and expertise.

Jim is so passionate about his job and that really raised aspirations all round and left the participants feeling inspired and motivated.

It also ignited the participants’ desires to work for a company that can replicate the same great culture that was on display at Alpine Metal Tech.

Thank you Jim, and Alpine, for a thoroughly interesting, and invaluable, morning.
