Opportunity Summary:

We have a vacancy within a CNC Turning Department and are currently recruiting for a Setter/Operator - CNC Turners operating either a Mazak Megaturn 900 or 1600.

Role Accountabilities:

To produce precision machined components to customer and quality specified tolerances using best practise modern methods. To contribute to the team and help to develop and maintain best practices.

• Use and control of CNC programs in accordance with relevant procedures.

• Ability to read and understand CNC code to the level required for machine set up and operation.

• Understand all set up parameters and the effect that they have on the process, for example, datum setting and tool length and wear offsets.

• Set up machines with the required work holding and tooling in accordance with relevant procedures.

• Working as a team to maximise machine utilisation

• Working to structured manufacturing plan

• Responsible for setting and operating a Mazak Megaturn Vertical Turning Centre

• Responsible for quality output

• Responsible for Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM)

• Capable of using measuring equipment such as micro meters, Vernier Callipers, Height Towers, Shadow Graphs, CMM etc.

• To perform other such duties as generally correspond to the nature of the position and its level of responsibility.

Person Specification:

• 5 years' experience in the Aerospace/Automotive Industry in a similar role

• Apprentice trained - Preferred or Demonstrated relevant experience

• Working to production time lines in a manufacturing environment

• Working with SOPs and Company specific documentation

• Self-driven, results orientated, with a positive outlook

• A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance

• Mature, credible and comfortable om dealing with various stakeholders

• Reliable, tolerant and determined

• Empathic communicator, able to see things from the other person's point of view

• Open to new experiences, responsibility and accountability
