Our client, a well-established Global business is growing. On this basis, we're actively recruiting a Procurement Manager to take operational ownership of providing day-to-day procurement support to the internal projects team based in Leicester.
The Procurement Manager will report to a business unit Supply Chain Manager and will be responsible for providing an excellent operational procurement service to the Project Delivery teams headed up by its respective Project Manager. You'll need to demonstrate experience within a Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) role.
This will include ensuring all procurement activities are planned and coordinated with the requirements of the project programmes, representing the needs of the project(s) or customer(s), to deliver tangible value to the business and to ensure that operational timeframes and needs are satisfied. The role would suit high calibre individuals looking to progress their careers and expand the breadth of their experience in a leading engineering and support services business.
In this role you will:
Cost estimating, quotations and other supply chain related information in support of bid development work.
Development of procurement schedules and plans in support of awarded business in conjunction with internal stakeholders.
Ensuring all goods and services are procured for the right price, in the right timeframe and in line with appropriate specifications/ BOMS and other SHEQ requirements.
Work closely with the QS team to ensure the flow down of appropriate Customer terms to the supply base as required.
Responsibility for maintenance of Open Order commitments, including ensuring all PO's are acknowledged, expedited and closed/completed accurately.
Support other Procurement and Supply Chain activities, initiatives and deliverables
Conduct market engagement, tendering, evaluation, negotiation and contract award activities to meet the requirements of the project(s).
Responsibility for conducting due diligence on suppliers.
Working closely with Quality to ensure timely resolution to supplier quality issues (NCR's) and to understand root cause and implement preventative action to improve quality.
Review and, where applicable, support the restructuring of the supply base to reduce low-value transactional activity and focus on the management of fewer, strategically important suppliers.
Monitor and report progress against the value plan on a monthly basis.
Identify new opportunities throughout the year and incorporate these into the Value Plan.
Ensure all activities are aligned with both defined business unit and Sector strategies;
Desirable - MCIPS Procurement qualification or equivalent
