Job Role: Process Controls Engineer
Location: Abingdon (OX14)
Salary: Up to £80k (Dependant on experience)

The Role
A job has become available for a Process Controls Engineer at a reputable engineering business based in Oxfordshire. The position will involve primary developing and maintains digital logic diagrams, sequential function charts, ladder diagrams, function block diagrams, structured text documentation and instruction list documentation for control systems. The controls engineer completes programming, troubleshooting and optimization of existing and new control systems to ensure the safety of the process, minimize energy consumption, and maximize product output.
Duties &Responsibilities
Write/Develop and maintain control systems and documentation for control systems.
Train software and controls engineers
Analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
Consults with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
Formulates and designs software system, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
Develops and maintains data historian to provide personnel with access to historical processing conditions
Develops and maintains SCADA interfaces
Develops and maintains systems to push out operating results and alarm conditions as they occur
The Candidate
3 years experience as a Process Controls Engineer
Driving licence and ability to travel - Essential
A Bachelor of Science degree in electrical or chemical engineering
Must be legally authorized to work in the UK without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Five years of software programming experience in an industrial facility or software controls programming firm
The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions is required.
Basic computer skills such as: opening, creating, and updating content in MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets is required.
Desirable
Five years' programming software support and programming experience in a chemical manufacturing facility of a refinery
Lean Manufacturing experience and certification
