The Role
An excited opportunity for a Manufacturing Systems Engineer (E-Motors) has become available for a company based in Southam.
You will be responsible to develop manufacturing solutions for clients' challenging components and assemblies. The next generation of assemblies will feature integrated electric drive and generation solutions which are being developed for scalable in-house manufacture.
To support the principal engineer in technical strategy & decision making relating to electric motor manufacturing processes & specifications.
Selection and liaison with manufacturing equipment supply partners.
Establish line layouts for e-motor assembly and test cells ensuring capacity, throughput and quality goals are met for initial pilot, upscaled pilot and future volume facilities.
Working with the principal engineer construct:
Performance based equipment specifications
Sourcing documentation for core manufacturing technologies
Detailed Process Flows
Process instructions and data logging capability
Monitor equipment manufacturing progress and oversee installation and commissioning
Fully support PFMEA and Manufacturing Control Plan development and ensure requirements are translated into equipment specifications and operation.
Support manufacturing supervisor in operator training requirements
The Candidate
Higher Education Qualification in Engineering
At least five year's experience working in leading edge manufacturing. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in the following:
Electro-magnet manufacturing
Sourcing and commissioning of bespoke equipment
Termination technologies (for example copper to copper welding)
Proven track record of influencing decision making in manufacturing method & design for manufacture.
Excellent inter-personal skills to ensure that external resources are fully engaged in project goals.
Experience to guide & influence sourcing of key tools including; CAD, simulation, Industry 4.0
Proven experience of appropriate application of dFMEA, pFMEA, Control Plan, risk analysis.
Clearance to be employed in United Kingdom.
Knowledge of 6-Sigma techniques application to design, development & manufacturing would be beneficial.
