Job Title: Buyer
Location: Northampton
Salary: £27,000
The Role:
A precision manufacturer that continues to grow and invest is looking for a buyer to carry out multiple functions.
Mon - Thurs: 08.30 17.00 / Fri: 08.30 16.00
Main Responsibilities:
Raising, issuing and maintaining purchase orders
Work closely with all functions to achieve the best delivery, quality and cost.
Purchase of material and parts.
Supplier management and monitoring of performance.
Liaising with suppliers to progress and discuss orders.
Monitor and review supplier performance.
Collaboration with production to ensure no delays.
To source materials and negotiate with suppliers.
Build and maintain close relationships with suppliers.
Some manufacturing and previous purchasing experience is required.
The Candidate:
You will be self-motivated able to carry out multiple roles
Have a high attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly with members of the team.
A manufacturing background with procurement knowledge
Adhere to all company policies and instructions
Good IT skills
Desirable:
* Read engineering drawings
* Experience in a manufacturing business
* Experience in a purchasing environment.
* Experience with an ERP/MRP system
