Job Title: IT Support Technician

Location: Nottingham

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

The Role: Providing internal IT & systems support

• Oversee daily operations of network and server infrastructure.

• Provide 1st and 2nd Line internal IT support, monitoring of IT support ticketing system.

• Designing, installing and supporting computer hardware configurations performing hands-on fixes at both hardware and software level.

• Aligning IT infrastructure with current and future business requirements and goals.

• Managing IT budgets and forecasts while enforcing cost-effectiveness.

• Evaluating risk, developing and maintaining network recovery, security and backup processes.

• Assuring that IT activities are within the limits of applicable laws, codes, regulations and accreditations.

• Training staff on newly installed hardware and software systems.

• Assessing and purchasing new and replacement hardware while maintaining the asset inventory.

• Testing, troubleshooting and adjusting information systems to operate effectively.

• Implementing security of our network, data, storage and communication systems.

• Able to create documentation to assist users in the usage of IT systems

The Candidate:

Essential

• Degree in IT-based subject (HNC/HND considered) and 5+ years experience in IT management (similar roles considered).

• Strong knowledge and experience of Microsoft operating systems (desktop and server), including Windows Server 2012 to Windows Server 2019 and Windows 8 to Windows 10.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Virtualisation technologies (HyperV/VMWare) and VPN operations.

• Experience managing projects and coordinating installations, upgrades, and maintenance.

• Hardware configuration, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

• Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.

• Knowledge and experience with network protocols TCP/IP and DHCP/DNS protocols along with associated applications.

• Experience in the configuration and management of network hardware such as routers, firewalls, switches and wireless access points.

Desirable

• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP

• Familiar with ISO 27001 standards and requirements
