The Role:

Under the direction of the supervisor The CNC Gear grinder sets up, adjusts, and operates high specification Gear grinding equipment to grind gears, gear shafts and spline shafts having very tight tolerances and finish requirements according to specified dimensions and company quality standards.

Candidate's check list:

  • Minimum 3 years of trades training or equivalent experience and two to four years of related machining experience.
  • Work from detailed drawings, process sheets, tooling instructions, and standard charts to identify component/manufacturing specifications.
  • Enter data into ERP system.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of CNC Gear Grinding processes.
  • Compute such data as dimensions, rotation speeds, feed rates, and machining times.
  • Able to set, program, edit, operate, and run a state-of-the-art Gear Grinding machines and have experience with Hofler.
  • Compute such data as dimensions, Speeds, feed rates, and machining times.
