Job Title: Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer
Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield
Salary: £30,500 per annum
Job Type: 24-month fixed contract, full time, 39 hours per week
The Role
We wish to recruit an ambitious graduate engineer interested in advancing the technology of Electromagnetic Compatibility testing to lead and deliver a project producing higher specification EMC chambers and radio frequency shielded rooms Work at the heart of technology development with a leading UK company who have a global customer base, with support from academic company supervisors. Includes training budget and 10% of your time dedicated to your personal development.
Main Responsibilities
Research and development of new EMC products and concepts
Responsible for the modelling and simulations of EMC test facilities concepts and design
Responsible for the shield effectiveness testing and analysis of new designs, products and chambers
Responsible for the calibration of testing equipment
Monthly reporting of results and findings to stakeholders
Maintain ongoing cross-party communications to ensure the correct support for different contracts. This may include site visits and overseas travel
Responsible for and comply with the ISO9001 2015 standards at all times
Engage with a continual Personal Development Plan with defined goals
Attend any training relevant to your role and future personal development
Plan and organise the effective use of resources to ensure targets are fully met
Review systems or process designs, identifying areas for improvement and recommending appropriate courses of action
Promote a continuous improvement culture and drive innovation and initiatives forward
Assess profitability and costs of products to be aware of commercial feasibility
Control budgets associated with project travel, consumables and personal/professional development
Perform any other duties commensurate with the job grade as reasonably required from time to time
The Candidate
BEng or equivalent in electronic engineering or related field
Knowledge of and keen interest in EMC
Knowledge of current EMC standards
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas
Willingness to be security checked
Residency in UK for minimum 5-years
