Job Title: Commercial Manager

Location: Lutterworth/Home-Based

Salary: £45,000-£55,000

Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Role

Our client is a market disruptor who develop game-changing building performance measurement technologies and software solutions for energy assessors, building surveyors, utility suppliers and other built environment experts.

As Commercial Manager you will be responsible for generating new business and heading up sales and promotion efforts across the current portfolio of five game changing building performance measurement products.

You will be given autonomy to shape the role and to leverage your successes to build a team around you. The role is national with tremendous scope to grow the business internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving the aims of the business, including costs and sales - managing personal time and productivity.
  • Conduct business development and key account management according to the agreed sales and revenue strategy. Generating new commercial opportunities whilst also nurturing and helping to grow existing relationships.
  • Plan/carry out/support marketing and promotional activities to agreed budgets and timescales, and integrate sales efforts with other organised marketing activities, e.g., product launches, promotions, advertising, exhibitions.
  • Use customer and prospect contact tools and systems (CRM), and update relevant information held in these systems.
  • Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information.
  • Feedback client discussions to technical and digital leads, continuously driving product improvement and new product development.

The Candidate

  • You are passionate, energetic and able to clearly demonstrate excellent sales, marketing and communication skills and experience.
  • 5+ years in a technical construction orientated sales, marketing or business development-based role.
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen and a proven track record in delivering sales results
  • Experience in B2B product-based sales, generating new business/new customers and able to demonstrate an ability to sell similar products across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrable success in thinking strategically, executing tactically while providing consistent and high levels of customer satisfaction and retention in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess basic technical understanding of the scientific and engineering principals behind the measurement products (basic building physics, thermal and fluid/pressure dynamics).
  • Proven track record in networking and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Superior organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to creatively solve complex problems.
