Our client, a very well-established law firm in Leicestershire, is looking for an experienced Child Care Lawyer to join their growing team.

We are looking for someone with proven experience as a Care Solicitor/Lawyer and driven to progress within their career, as well as:

  • Be a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives;

  • Familiarity with forms and other relevant documentation relating to Child Care matters;

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply and interpret child related law including care and adoption proceedings;

  • Demonstrable understanding of primary and secondary legislation;

  • Demonstrable experience of personally managing legal work to a high standard of accuracy, reliability and promptitude;

  • Commitment to keep abreast of changes and developments in law and practice of their field and ensure that the team benefits from that knowledge;

  • Essential experience required of working within the area of children's social care;

  • A high standard of interpersonal and communication skills.


At least 2 years post qualification experience of dealing with public law Children Act matters, preferably gained in a Local Authority setting.

Experience of successfully defending judicial review proceedings.

£9.80–£9.80 per hour

£28,000–£32,000 per annum

Annual bonus, company car

£24,000–£28,000 per annum
