Official Launch of the Birmingham Workplace Champions programme

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Official Launch of the Birmingham Workplace Champions programme

BUSINESSES CAN STILL GET INVOLVED

The Birmingham Workplace Champions Programme, fully funded by Birmingham City Council and delivered by Optima UK, has officially launched, offering a game-changing initiative to improve workplace wellbeing across businesses in Birmingham.

With a focus on fostering positive cultural change, this programme is designed to support companies in building healthier, more engaged workplaces.

The launch event, held at The Great Barr Hotel and Conference Centre, saw more than 70 Birmingham-based businesses gather to discover the programme’s benefits.

Attendees were inspired by Olympic medallist Joel Fearon and physical intelligence expert Jo Ferbrache, who shared valuable insights on the importance of workplace wellbeing. Their presentations provided practical tools and techniques to help businesses support their teams.

With more than 80 percent of the businesses who attended signing up to appoint a Workplace Wellbeing Champion within their teams, the programme has already seen fantastic early success.

Businesses are still welcome to join and nominate a member of their team to become a Workplace Wellbeing Champion. Interested companies can attend one of the upcoming introduction webinars or contact Optima UK to learn more about how to get involved in this transformative programme.

Olympic medallist Joel Fearon said:
“I was thrilled to be part of it, and a huge shout out to the fab team at Optima. I also had the honour of speaking after the incredible Jo Ferbrache whose inspiring story set the perfect tone for the day. I met some amazing people, and it’s exciting to see a few attendees already getting in touch for one-to-one coaching to dive deeper into shifting from chaos to calm. It’s always rewarding to see people take that first step.”

Physical intelligence expert Jo Ferbrache reflected on the event:
“It was an honour to be part of such an inspiring programme. Joel Fearon’s story set the perfect tone for the day, and I’ve already had a number of attendees reach out for one-to-one coaching. It’s always exciting to see businesses take the first step toward creating a healthier work environment.”

Larraine Boorman, CEO at Optima UK, said:
“The feedback from the event was overwhelmingly positive. It’s amazing to see so many businesses ready to invest in their people and take advantage of this fully-funded initiative. By signing up a team member as a Workplace Wellbeing Champion, they are not only enhancing their own workplace but contributing to a wider community of businesses striving for positive change.”
